Medical Massage

While there is no doubt that most people feel really good after a Medical Massage treatment, the purpose of Medical Massage is quite distinct from relaxation or spa massage.

The Medical Massage practitioner has studied anatomy and physiology.  He or she knows the bones and muscles of the body, how those muscles are layered and where they connect to the bones of the skeleton.  They understand, for example, that if you have pain or tingling in your hand that it can be caused by a problem in your shoulder.  Or that if you suffer from low back pain, one cause can be weak muscles in your abdomen.

Medical Massage practitioners are trained to understand complex relationships of muscles in the body, and are trained to work with your physician to help you re-establish your health and comfort.  Medical Massage might be prescribed by your doctor to assist with:
